One of those moments where you KNOW the guy isn't going to survive, but you do what you can just the same. I was the third person to arrive at this scene, where a man cutting a tree down tried to stop it from falling towards his house -- bad decision. I helped wedge the tree as rescurers' attempted to cut it apart. As more emergency personnel arrived, I went back to photographing the scene.

Later that day I learned that the victim was treated for a bruised kidney and released from the hospital. It's amazing how much the body can endure and still survive ... or how little and expire.

Along with police and firefighters, I was put up for a commendation for meritous service by the township. They got it, I didn't ... lol ... go figure.
